Swing Gearbox Oil Dipstick

Replacement oil level dipstick for the swing reduction gearbox on excavators. It’s used to check the gear oil level in the swing drive from the top of the upper structure, without working underneath the machine.

What it does
The swing drive has a hydraulic swing motor mounted on a planetary reduction gearbox. The gearbox is a sealed housing filled with gear oil (typically SAE 90 or 80W-90, per OEM specification). This dipstick passes through the guide tube into the gearbox so you can check the oil level quickly during daily or service inspections.

Regular checks help prevent gear and bearing wear in the swing drive. A rising oil level can also be an early sign of a leaking swing motor shaft seal.
