The 5KC Keech or MT03 Hitachi style is Australia's most common tooth system for mini excavators and skid steers up to 3 tonnes. These teeth are secured with either a nested two-roll-pin system or a single heavy-duty coiled spring pin, installed vertically. If your machine in this class uses a roll-pin retention method, this is likely your tooth type. The primary exceptions are ECH excavator buckets and Hughes 4-in-1 buckets made after 2007, which use a specific "03 Roll Pin" style tooth, also widely available.

Blade or Twin Tiger Teeth?

Blade Teeth are the ideal all-rounder, offering a long service life due to their large wear area. Twin Tiger Teeth feature sharper points for easier penetration in hard or compacted ground, but their narrower design leads to faster wear. A simple guideline is to use Blade teeth for general work and switch to Twin Tigers when your machine struggles to dig into tougher material.
